The pop star’s attorney, Samuel D. Ingham III, said she is “strongly opposed to having [Jamie] return as the conservator of her person,” according to new court documents obtained by Us Weekly.

He also said that Britney, 38, “strongly prefers” that her care manager, Jodi Montgomery, “continue in that role as [she] has done for nearly a year.”

Jamie requested to have Montgomery take over after citing his ongoing colon problems and an altercation with his grandson, Sean Preston, occurred. In March, it was apparent the 67-year-old had tension with Britney’ sons when 13-year-old Jayden Federline went on an Instagram Live rant and said Jamie “could go die.”

Due to the pandemic, Montgomery’s role as Britney’s temporary conservator was extended until Aug. 22. A hearing is scheduled for Aug. 19.

In July, Britney’s mother, Lynne Spears, filed documents to request to be involved in her daughter’s finances.

In the new documents, the “Toxic” singer does not request to have the conservatorship removed altogether, but rather “have a qualified corporate fiduciary appointed to serve in this role.”

Ingham pointed out that Britney was first put in a conservatorship in 2008 after a “collapse, exploitation by predatory individuals and financial ruin,” which would be phase one. She then had a successful stint touring throughout phase two before going on a hiatus.

“We are now at a point where the conservatorship must be changed substantially in order to reflect the major changes in her current lifestyle and her stated wishes,” the attorney added, confirming that Britney has no “desire … to perform at this time.”

In March, Jayden echoed the same sentiments on an Instagram Live, saying, “I haven’t seen her do a lot of new music at all. I remember one time I asked her, ‘Mom, what happened to your music?’ and she was, like, ‘I don’t know, honey. I think I might just quit it.’”

Spears’ reps did not immediately return our request for comment.
