        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>In an attempt to identify the assailants, authorities released shocking video footage of the assault, which shows the guy being punched in the head from behind before being cut and stabbed by six other adolescents as he lay helpless on the ground.<br /><br />At 5.37 a.m. on November 10, a violent event occurred in front of 315 West 44 Street and near the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Midtown Manhattan.</p>
<p>Although the cause for the attack is unknown, the neighborhood has been the target of a number of attacks in recent months. It comes as the Big Apple tries to entice office employees and visitors back to Midtown Manhattan's landmarks.<br /><br />According to a study issued Wednesday by the Partnership of New York City, safety worries are preventing many workers from returning to work, raising fears among tourism executives seeking to woo international visitors back.</p>

<p>The victim is seen strolling along a sidewalk alone when an unidentified guy smashes him in the head with an item, knocking him to the ground.<br /><br />As the victim attempts to stand up, a gang of six unidentified men rush up to him and begin'stabbing and slicing' him.<br /><br />According to authorities, he was cut in the face and stabbed in the neck during the incident.</p>
<p class="mol-para-with-font">Emergency services responded to the incident and transported the man to a Manhattan hospital in what police described as stable condition, reported&nbsp;<a class="class" style="font-weight: bold;" href="https://pix11.com/news/local-news/manhattan/man-jumped-teens-slashed-stabbed-near-times-square/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener">Pix 11 News</a>.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Officials claimed the suspects escaped to the Times Square subway station after the incident, using the West 44th Street and Eighth Avenue entry for the A, C, and E lines, although it was unclear if they went uptown or downtown.<br /><br />Police shared images of the individuals wearing hoodies and smiling on Twitter, but no arrests had been made as of Wednesday morning.<br /><br />For a reward of up to $3500, anybody with information on the attack can call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or direct message @NYPDTips on Twitter.</p>

<p class="mol-para-with-font">The attack comes as New York City has been crippled by increasing visible, violent crime, including horrific subway and street attacks.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to NYPD crime figures, there have been 1,526 gunshot victims in the city this year through October 17, nearly double the number of gun violence casualties in 2019.<br /><br />Through October 17 of last year, 1,507 people had been shot.<br /><br />From January 1 to September 26 this year, 89 gunshot victims aged 17 and under were registered. During the same time period in 2019, there were 45 gunshot victims who were 17 years old or younger.<br /><br />Between January 1 and September 26, 16 young people were slain by gun violence, an increase of more than 136% compared to the same period last year, when three children or teenagers were killed.</p>
