Unable to perform live, pop stars including Ariana Grande are finding creative ways to entertain their fans in coronavirus quarantine.

“Tommy [and] I sending u some virtual love,” pint-size pop star Ariana Grande captions a video of one such digital performance with her record producer Tommy Brown, 33. “Hope you’re all staying safe, sane, healthy and as creative as possible.”

The singer, 26, then sings the title track off her 2014 album “My Everything.”

“I’ve cried enough tears to see my own reflection in them,” she croons while Brown accompanies her on piano from a separate space, social distancing even on the screen itself. Brown has worked with Grande on all five of her albums, and has scored a number of her hits.

The video has racked up over 185,000 likes on Twitter and more than 2.7 million views on Instagram since being posted Sunday night.

The “thank u, next,” singer has been staying in the headlines while staying indoors during quarantine, sharing photos of how her natural curly hair has grown since she began social distancing due to the pandemic, responding to a hand-washing video mocking her long sleeves, sending money to fans hit by the coronavirus-related shutdowns, reuniting with her “Victorious,” co-stars and quarantining with her new boyfriend, real-estate agent Dalton Gomez.

The show has been going on for a number of other performers as well — albeit, over video chat and other virtual methods. Elton John, for instance, hosted a coronavirus benefit concert with remote performances, Patrick Stewart proved that actors remain essential in the shutdown and Bruce Springsteen, Diplo, Charli XCX, Erykah Badu, Rufus Wainwright and Ben Gibbard have all utilized technology to livestream music in place of performing it live. The virtual entertainment is proving such a success, it may become a business model after the pandemic passes.
