Anderson Cooper’s 3-month-old son Wyatt is sleeping soundly 12 hours a night, thanks in part to his “amazing” nurse.

“I have an amazing nurse… I’m not sure what she’s done but I’m told there’s no Ambien or whiskey involved,” the CNN anchor recently told WSJ. Magazine.

In late April, Cooper announced the arrival of son Wyatt Morgan during a live broadcast, revealing he had welcomed his first child via surrogate. Co-parenting with ex Benjamin Maisani, whom he split from in 2018, Cooper said fatherhood has not only transformed his life but has given him a greater purpose.

“It’s changed everything,” Cooper said. “I’ve often in my life felt like I was waiting for my actual life to begin — it’s obviously ridiculous because I’m 53 years old — but… I’ve been very focused on getting to some place, getting a story. Because I’m focused on him, it gives an order to everything.”

Cooper’s own sleep schedule has shifted since Wyatt’s arrival, as the once “late riser” gets up around 7 a.m. to start the day.

“I don’t use an alarm anymore because I guess I’m just naturally getting up. My whole motivation in the morning is to be there when my son wakes up because it is the greatest moment of my day,” Cooper explained. “He sleeps in this sleep sack, which I didn’t know was a thing, and he makes all these great sounds and he stretches and when he finally wakes up and sees you and smiles. It’s incredible.”

Additionally, Cooper has also incorporated coffee into his diet.

“For about six months, I’ve been fasting, so I don’t eat breakfast. I’ve become addicted to coffee, I’m not sure if that’s a good thing. I allow myself one to two coffees a day: iced coffee, black and nothing else in it because that’s not breaking the fast,” he shared.

Fortunately for Cooper, he has also been able to rely on pal Andy Cohen — who is a father to 1-year-old son Benjamin — for support. In May, the Bravo honcho revealed Cooper had employed his longtime nanny. Baby Wyatt has also received Benjamin Cohen’s hand-me-downs.

In June, Cooper and Cohen’s sons “met” for the first time via a virtual introduction on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.”
