A mock-up of Tenoch Huerta's Namor the Sub-Mariner appeared shortly after prospective villain Attuma was shown in all of his Atlantean magnificence. Needless to say, the MCU fans were ecstatic to see the fan favorite finally come to life (and looking adequately badass in the process), but it didn't take long for the situation to descend into Marvel vs. DC tribalism.

Of course, that's to be anticipated when Jason Momoa's Arthur Curry returns to our screens in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom next year, and if the intense argument on Reddit is to be believed, the superhero genre will not rest until one comic book ruler of Atlantis is declared superior to the other.

Aquaman has the advantage of being the highest-grossing DC adaptation ever filmed, but we're all anticipating Namor to be the main enemy in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Merch is frequently how the gradual drip-feeding of information about a high-profile project begins, but with less than three weeks before San Diego Comic-Con, it would be prudent to hedge our bets on official photos or footage being shown to the audience when Marvel takes the stage in Hall H.
