        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Fans of &#8220;Jeopardy!&#8221; can breathe a sigh of relief today.</p><p>Alex Trebek released a video announcement today with an update on his fight against Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. The beloved game show host, who made his illness public over a year ago, said he&#8217;s also looking forward to his upcoming book launch.</p><p>&#8220;I’m doing well. I’ve been continuing my treatment and it is paying off, although it does fatigue me a great deal. My numbers are good. I’m feeling great,&#8221; he says in the clip, while sporting an uncharacteristic beard for the usually clean-cut broadcaster.</p><p>He also <strong>reassures anxious viewers</strong> that while production of his show remains halted due to <strong>coronavirus pandemic</strong> safety precautions, he has been &#8220;recording show openings for some very special &#8216;Jeopardy!&#8217; episodes that will be coming out in July.&#8221; The show&#8217;s final original episode, which was filmed prior to the COVID-19 crisis, <strong>aired on June 12</strong>.</p><p>&#8220;For the first time ever, we are going to open the &#8216;Jeopardy!&#8217; vault and take another look at some of our favorite episodes, including the very first &#8216;Jeopardy!&#8217; show I ever hosted,&#8221; he explains in the clip.</p><p>His first memoir, called &#8220;<strong>The Answer Is . . . : Reflections on My Life</strong>&#8221; (Simon &amp; Schuster), promises to <strong>reveal never-before-heard stories</strong> from television&#8217;s pre-eminent trivia master. Due out July 21, the release of the $25 tome will coincide with the game show legend&#8217;s 80th birthday on July 22.</p><p>&#8220;I want people to know a little more about the person they have been cheering on for the past year,&#8221; Trebek wrote in the book, <strong>according to the Hollywood Reporter</strong>.</p><p>More on the upcoming &#8220;Jeopardy!&#8221; schedule:</p><p><strong>July 20 to 24:</strong> &#8220;The Best of Jeopardy!‘s First Decade&#8221; will feature best-of episodes from the 1980s, including the series premiere, as well as the first record-setting &#8220;super champion.&#8221;</p><p><strong>July 27 to 31:</strong> &#8220;The Best of Celebrity Jeopardy!&#8221; will showcase five of the most entertaining, star-studded episodes from actors, musicians and other public figures — all of whom have raised a collective $9 million for charity over the years.</p><p><strong>Aug. 3 to 7 and Aug. 10 to 14:</strong> The encore presentation of the &#8220;Million Dollar Masters&#8221; (2002) contest includes 15 of the most winningest contestants from the first 18 seasons of the show, who came together for a two-week tournament at Radio City Music Hall in New York City.</p>]]></content:encoded>
