Since she first burst onto the scene with her eponymous solo album in 1982, the multi-hyphenate singer, actress, director, humanitarian and beauty mogul has become a cultural icon. 

She’s also proven to be a pioneer in the music industry and beyond thanks to her boundary-defying performances, non-conformist fashion and unapologetic creativity that inspired fans around the globe to be true to themselves.

When it comes to style, the mother of six’s career has been defined by performance art-inspired costumes and fashion choices that never fail to start a conversation. From cone bras to kimonos, butt-less leotards to bra-less bustiers, Madonna has never been shy about putting her super fit physique on display. 

Rewind the clock to 1993, and the “Like a Prayer” singer stepped on stage in a costume-like ensemble that channeled all the ‘70s vibes. Complete with velvet bell-bottoms, a multi-colored crop top and a blonde afro, Madonna proved that she’s not afraid to take her make her style just as show-stopping as her songs. 

Her beauty looks are similarly inventive, rocking everything from a pin-straight raven-hued lob to ultra-glam blonde waves with ease, and she even started her own skincare line, MDNA Skin, to share her fountain of youth secrets with the masses.

The singer has played with Marilyn Monroe-esque platinum blonde bobs, statement red lips and brunette hues. But every now and again she throws a true wild card into the mix. 

Take the 2018 Met Gala for example. The pop icon dressed in line with the Heavenly Bodies theme, styling her hair in two French braids with a cross-embellished crown and long veil.

And once the star turned 60 later that year, her force in the fashion arena only kicked into overdrive. She even put an uber-sexy spin on things, proving that age is just a number. 

In 2021 for example, she took to Instagram to share one lingerie-clad picture after the other. “And Now For A Moment of Self Reflection …………… Madame ❌,” she captioned a March post, wearing a lacy bra, thigh-high stockings and a conductor hat.
