The Greatest Showman star has been linked to several of his costars, including Vanessa Hudgens from High School Musical, Alexandra Daddario, who shared the screen with him in Baywatch, and Lily Collins, who appeared alongside him in Netflix’s Ted Bundy biopic, Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile.

More recently, Us Weekly confirmed that the Greatest Showman star dated Olympic swimmer Sarah Bro and then actress Halston Sage.

Efron followed up the short-lived romances by dating model Vanessa Valladares, whom he met in Australia in June 2020.

“Zac and Vanessa are really good for each other,” a source exclusively told Us in September 2020. “She has calmed him down a lot, and he’s not partying too much.” Us confirmed in April 2021 that the pair called it quits.

The Disaster Artist actor’s journey to finding true love hasn’t been particularly smooth. In 2016, the Disney alum lamented to Ellen DeGeneres about how difficult it was searching for a mate.

“Dating is kind of hard,” he said at the time. “A forced awkward situation is very strange. Especially for me, for some reason. I like to go and do something adventurous. I like to go out and do some sort of crazy activity.”

The Neighbors star elaborated to the U.K. Times in July 2016, telling the publication, “Dating is something I’ll never be able to do. As in the dictionary definition of dating, because one way or another, I’ve impacted that person’s life and they’ll soon realize it. A date has to be very long to dispel whatever people think about me.”

Efron also admitted to an attempt at online dating, telling the Times, “Amazingly, when I signed up for Tinder, nobody swiped me!” he said. “They thought [my profile] was fake.”

For the next four years, the twosome were in wedded bliss, getting matching tattoos, buying a home and trying for babies — a journey that was documented on their hit E! reality series, Khloé & Lamar.

Their fairytale romance unraveled in late 2013, however, when Odom fell into a vicious cycle of addiction that would ultimately end with the athlete coming close to death after overdosing at a legal brothel in Nevada.

The couple split in 2013 ahead of Odom’s hospitalization, but Kardashian called off their divorce in late 2015, choosing instead to focus on her former partner’s health.

By May 2016, he had recovered, and the fashion guru filed for divorce once more — finalizing it seven months later in December.

They went for a period of time without speaking, but after a new tell-all book from Odom and multiple cheating scandals on the part of Kardashian’s new beau, Tristan Thompson, the pair are back in touch. (Kardashian shares daughter True with Thompson.)

“She sent me a text yesterday,” Odom said of his ex-wife on a May 29 episode of the Jenny McCarthy Show, noting that it was “friendly.”

The DJ recently praised his ex-wife for seeking mental health treatment amid her father Jamie Spears’ illness in April 2019.

“Kevin commends Britney for recognizing that she needs to take a step back and that she is taking the reasonable steps to deal with her situation in a responsible way,” Federline’s attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, told The Blast.

He also agreed to care for their children until she has recovered.

The pair’s journey to amicability hasn’t been an easy one, however. Just months prior, the twosome were locked in a bitter feud after Federline requested an increase in child support payments.

The duo, who once avoided each other at their son Preston’s baseball game, according to an eyewitness, have also feuded over custody in the past.

By 2015, however, they seemed to have temporarily gotten over their differences: The reality star recalled his happier times with Spears to Access Hollywood in March 2015. “It was a good time in my life,” he said, adding that their coparenting was going “great.”

Despite having amassed notoriety and critical acclaim, there are plenty of stars who come up short in the awards department — at least as far as the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences is concerned.

John Travolta, for instance, has been nominated twice but came up short of a win both times, as did his Pulp Fiction costar Samuel L. Jackson, who was nominated in one category for the film in 1994.

Other beloved celebs, including Jennifer Aniston and Blake Lively, have never even had the honor of being recognized by the prestigious group, with no nominations to their names.

While some stars keep quiet about their snubs, others are more outspoken. In 2019, Jim Carrey admitted that he has no interest in the campaign strategy that coincides with awards season.

“There’s a lot of monkey business that goes on around awards,” Carrey, who’s scored two Golden Globes throughout his career but is still without a single Oscar nomination, told Vanity Fair. “[It’s a] gigantic clusterf–k. … If you don’t show up to a certain dinner, you screw your chances and all those things. I’ve never been real good at playing that game.”

The Liar Liar actor continued, “The only time I’ve ever felt a twinge of something about an award or not getting nominated is whenever people tell me I should be. Like, really? Should I be disgruntled? I had a wonderful time and I met a bunch of people. … Isn’t that enough?”

Though Carrey hasn’t been nominated for the most prestigious trophies in Hollywood, Glenn Close has been just shy of an Oscar more than once. Before earning her eighth nomination from the Academy in March 2021, the Hillbilly Elegy actress sat down for a virtual chat with Pete Davidson — who couldn’t believe Close didn’t have an Oscar to her name.

“What can we do to get you an Oscar?” the SNL star asked in the January 2021 Variety interview. “We have to get the internet to help because you deserve seven!”

Close, however, wasn’t too concerned. “Is it better to be wheeled out in a wheelchair and get the lifetime achievement award?” she teased at the time. “You don’t have to make a speech. It’s beyond me. I don’t know what to say about that. I just have to keep doing what’s good. You’re fulfilled by your work, and that’s the process to me. It’s what feeds my soul, but it really is nice when other people like it. It might be cool to never get one.”

The execution of each A-lister, however, varies greatly from couple to couple. The Kylie Cosmetics founder has given everything from a Ferrari to Louis Vuitton handbags to those in her inner circle. The Yeezy designer, for his part, has donated $1 million to his wife Kim Kardashian’s favorite charity in honor of her birthday and also had a one-of-a-kind Hermès Birkin bag hand-painted for her.

The KKW Beauty founder’s 40th birthday celebration in October 2020, proved that Kardashian is also a great gift giver. The Skims founder flew her closest friends and family to a private island for a week of festivities and fun activities, including dancing, bike riding, movies on the beach and big dinner.

“I realize that for most people, this is something that is so far out of reach right now,” she wrote via Instagram, referencing the coronavirus pandemic quarantine restrictions at the time. “So in moments like these, I am humbly reminded of how privileged my life is. #thisis40.”

Others, such as Once Upon a Time alum Josh Dallas and musician Stevie Nicks, have shown their love and admiration for their nearest and dearest with inexpensive-yet-personal presents straight from the heart.

“I have this incredible book that Stevie Nicks gave me in 2013 when my boyfriend [Cory Monteith] died,” Lea Michele told Billboard in January 2017. “She gave me this art book of hers that she put notes in over the years and song lyrics, and then she rewrote personal notes for me that say things like, ‘Keep singing, and have faith.’”
